Rev. Dr. Christy McMillin-Goodwin

Pastor

Christy is a native of South Carolina. She is a graduate of Furman University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration. Christy also holds a Master of Divinity degree from the Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond and earned a Doctor of Ministry in Spirituality from Columbia Theological Seminary in December 2022. Christy came to First Baptist after serving for 23 years at Oakland Baptist Church, Rock Hill, SC, as the Minister to Students and also the Minister of Education and Missions. 

She is married to Shane and they have two children, Paige and Reid.

Brad Rinker

worship leader

Brad is a native of Warren County, a graduate of Warren County High School, and a graduate of VA Tech with a B.S. and M.S. in education. His family has been a part of First Baptist for over 25 years. His passion is for leading both traditional and contemporary music during the worship service.

Sue Rinker

MUsic director

Sue is a native of Newport News, VA. She received her undergraduate and graduate degree in education from VA Tech. Sue studied piano and voice under the tutelage of Vera Rathcamp from Julliard School of Music. She has been the organist for First Baptist Church since  1998, and she was promoted to music director in 2005.

Shelley Scott

DAYCARE DIRECTOR

Shelley has been with the daycare for over 4 years.  She is originally from West Virginia, but has lived in this area for 12 years.  Shelley has been married to Shawn Scott for 26 years, and together they have two adult sons, Nathan Scott, living in the Warrenton area, and Ryan Scott, who is currently serving in the Air Force.  

Heather Hughes

Administrative assistant

Heather started working as the Administrative Assistant for First Baptist in October 2021. She is originally from New England (RI & MA), and is a military veteran and wife of a veteran. She has also lived in Texas, Hawaii, Florida, Connecticut, and Manassas, VA. She moved to Warren County in 2017 and currently lives with her husband, Eddie, her cat Hawkeye and her dog, Freyja. She also is the mother of two adult children - Emily & Rhea.
